LODGE CALEDONIA OF CANBERRA NO. 938

Lodge Caledonia meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at the Canberra Masonic Centre, located on Mountevans Street in Mawson.

Our Lodge is comprised of men from all walks of life, ages, races, social status and religious beliefs. We all meet on the level and adhere to the same principles of Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth. We strive daily to improve ourselves and to enrich the lives of those around us. We seek to strengthen our communities through fellowship, benevolence, education and leadership. We are a Fraternity with a proud history which is deeply rooted in ancient tradition.

We are an English Constitution by name, however you may have guessed that we are a Scottish Lodge in spirit and we have approval to wear Scottish attire. We also host a Burns Night in January to celebrate the life of Robbie Burns.

Freemasonry itself is dedicated to the purpose of making good men into better men. Furthermore, it also encourages its members to actively seek to better themselves through the merits of hard work, dedication, and education. To convey these lessons, both symbols and allegories are used throughout the teachings of the Craft. Each of our visual symbols has a meaning which is designed to remind us of some moral or social virtue which we should learn and practice throughout our lives. The stories we tell through the course of our three degrees of membership are allegorical and designed to be impressive to the initiate whilst imparting and teaching important constructs and lessons. Above all else, Freemasonry is dedicated to the brotherhood of all mankind.

Our membership is open to all men who are eighteen years of age or over, and of good will and character.
